GPAC Named Top NAIA Conference in Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings

(Cleveland, Ohio) – The 2023-24 Learfield Directors’ Cup (LDC) Standings have been released. The LDC was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NCAA and NAIA Championships.

Individual school champions and the top conferences are announced annually for the NAIA along with NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. The awards are presented at the NACDA Convention each summer.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is the winner of the top conference award in the NAIA Division. The GPAC joins the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Division I, the Sunshine Conference in Division II, and the NESCAC/UAA Conferences in Division III as the top conferences in the country.

The GPAC boasted five institutions inside the Top-25 of the final LDC standings to take home top NAIA conference honors.

GPAC All-Sports Champion Concordia was 15th, Northwestern was 19th, Midland 21st, Doane 23rd, and Dordt was 24th in the final standings.

Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s basketball and women’s volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
