Northwestern’s Fritz is GPAC football defensive player of the week

Defensive Back Kylar Fritz of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Fritz, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, was responsible for forcing two fourth-quarter turnovers in Northwestern’s 35-33 win over Mount Marty on Saturday night. He opened the quarter with a fumble recovery before sealing the game with a pick in the end zone. In total, Fritz had six tackles, two pass breakups, an interception, and a fumble recovery. The Red Raiders will host Midland on September 19. Kick off will be at 6 pm.
