Two people were taken to Sioux Center Health following a two-vehicle crash in Hull on Tuesday afternoon, September 15.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred at 3:51 p.m. on Locust Street.
According to deputies, 69-year-old Pamela Jean Van Sloten of Hull was driving a 2007 Chrysler Aspen out of a parking lot and entering Locust Street. Maria Rangel Lemus, 51, of Rock Rapids, was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on the street.
The sheriff’s office says Van Sloten failed to yield while entering the roadway and struck Rangel Lemus’ vehicle.
Hull Ambulance transported Rangel Lemus and her passenger to Sioux Center Health for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Van Sloten reported no injuries.
Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the Chrysler and $6,000 to the Volkswagen.
Van Sloten was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
During the investigation, deputies determined Rangel Lemus’ driver’s license was suspended. She was arrested and transported to the Sioux County Jail, where she was charged with driving with a suspended license, a simple misdemeanor.
Hull Ambulance assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
