The West Sioux Community School District has named Adam McVay as the next middle school and high school principal, pending school board approval.
McVay will officially begin his new role on July 1st.
Longtime West Sioux Educator
McVay has spent the past 14 years serving the West Sioux district in a variety of roles, including:
•High school teacher
•Mentor
•Coach
•Middle/high school dean of students
District leaders say his experience and familiarity with the school community helped make him a strong fit for the role.
West Sioux School Board President Larry Gregg says the district is grateful for McVay’s commitment and dedication to West Sioux and looks forward to his continued leadership.
McVay says he is honored and excited to step into the principal role.
He says he is grateful for the opportunity to continue leading alongside dedicated educators, supportive families, and outstanding students in the West Sioux community.
Educational Background
McVay earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and history from Mount Marty University
A master’s degree in educational administration with a principal endorsement from Northwestern College.
Search Process
District officials say the opening attracted nine qualified candidates, with three finalists interviewed during the search process.
The district partnered with Grundmeyer Leader Services for the search.
Leadership Transition
McVay replaces Alynn Coppock, who was recently named superintendent of the Riverside Community School District.
