Authorities Seek Help in Theft of Copper

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a theft at a business north of Hawarden. 

The investigation shows someone stole copper wire and scrap copper from a large metal cargo container located at the rear of the business property by cutting a lock on the container.  The copper included rolls of 1-inch, 2-inch, and 3–4-inch diameter copper and is valued at approximately $10,000.  The theft is believed to have occurred within the past two weeks. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 712-737-3307
