Interim Director Named For Family Crisis Centers

Family Crisis Centers announced that the Board of Directors appointed the Director of Victim Services, Jessica Rohrs, as Interim Executive Director effective immediately. Family Crisis Centers’ former Executive Director, Shari Kastein, retired on December 31, 2022.

Rohrs attended the University of Northern Iowa where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a minor in family studies. She has a Master of Public Administration from Dordt University. Prior to joining Family Crisis Centers in 2015, Rohrs held various leadership positions at Boys & Girls Club of Brookings.

“Jessica has been an asset to Family Crisis Centers. She’ll continue working with the Board of Directors and staff during this transition period. We look forward to her leadership in this role,” Board President Julie Arends said.

As Interim Executive Director, Rohrs will continue leading Family Crisis Centers in carrying out its mission. She will help ensure the continued success of the agency in maintaining quality programs and services for people in need.

“The mission of Family Crisis Centers is one I hold dear. It has been a great privilege to work at FCC these past seven years, and I look forward to serving the agency in this new interim role,” Jessica Rohrs said.

The Board of Directors will conduct a search for a new Executive Director in the coming months.
