Remsen Man Arrested For Several Violations

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Remsen man early Saturday morning in Orange City.  The arrest of 24-year-old Angel Manuel stemmed from a pursuit that started when a deputy tried to stop him for driving too fast on Jackson Avenue north of Orange City.  Manuel continued driving, eluding the deputy, driving southbound on various streets through Orange City, eventually stopping on the south end of Orange City.

During the investigation, authorities suspected that Manuel was under the influence of alcohol.

Manuel was transported to the Sioux County Jail, where he was charged with Eluding and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated; additionally, he was cited for open container of alcohol in a vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, three counts of speed violations, five counts of stop sign violations and failure to yield right of way.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Orange City Police Department.
