Sinnema elevated to Associate Athletic Director at Northwestern

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Patrick Sinnema has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year after two years in his Assistant Athletic Director role at Northwestern College.

Sinnema has served at Northwestern as Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities since the summer of 2021 and has served on the NWC athletic leadership team. He’s been actively involved in the planning stages of the Bultman Center Phase II renovations with the aim of bringing together a first-class football locker room, meeting space and offices, and a refresher on the already existing locker rooms in the Bultman Center.

“I’ve been blessed to be a part of Raider athletics for the past few years, and I am looking forward to the continued pursuit of excellence, and God-glorifying work, at Northwestern as Associate Athletic Director,” commented Sinnema. “President Christy, former AD Dr. Micah Parker, Assistant Athletic Director Rik Dahl and the rest of the athletic department have been excellent mentors for me, and a true joy to work with.”

He stepped into the Assistant AD role towards the tail-end of the Bultman Center Phase I project. Since then, he’s been part of several other projects of varying sizes to better serve the Northwestern College community and athletic department.

“In the past two years, thanks to efforts of our constituents and coaches, we’ve proudly made other improvements to many other areas including the tennis facility, Juffer Fieldhouse, the DeWitt Fitness Center and DeValois Stadium,” noted Sinnema. “I’m excited to see what the future hold for Raider athletics, and look forward to supporting our coaches, and student-athletes, as they honor Christ through their efforts.”

A 2011 graduate of Dordt College (now University), Sinnema graduated with a degree in Exercise Science & Recreation Management. He was a four-year player for the Defenders baseball program, earning two All-Conference honors. He ranks top-5 in career wins, innings pitched and strike outs on the mound for the Defender baseball program.

“I’m excited for the elevation within the department and I’m thrilled to continue working with them to provide athletic programs that truly Stand Out,” concluded Sinnema.

Sinnema and his wife, Kelly, have two daughters: Maddy and Harper.
