Multiple Sioux County communities are offering opportunities in the coming weeks for residents to dispose of unwanted electronic items safely.

The 2026 Sioux Center E-cycle free electronic recycling event will be held tomorrow morning (Saturday) from 7:30 to 9 at Pella’s south loading docks. Event coordinator Jodie Wielenga says the program is offered at no cost thanks to local sponsors.

Wielenga says a wide range of electronic items will be accepted at the event.

She also notes that some items won’t be accepted & encourages guideline review.

Wielenga says the event has proven to be quick and convenient for residents in past years.

While the Sioux Center event is free, freewill donations will be accepted, with proceeds going to Wreaths Across America.

Other communities are offering similar opportunities. Orange City and Alton will host an e-cycling program on May 1st and 2nd in Alton. Orange City City Administrator Matt Van Schouwen says it’s a good way to properly dispose of items.

Residents of Orange City and Alton must pick up a free tag from their city office to participate. Only one tag is required per household, regardless of the number of items, though identification will be required without a tag.

In addition, the City of Hawarden will hold its Spring Clean-Up Days May 1st through the 3rd, with electronic items accepted for a fee.
