Northwestern and Dordt climb in NAIA men’s rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With conference play in full swing, the 10-0 Northwestern men’s basketball team has moved up one spot to No. 7 in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll. The Raiders received one first-place vote in the poll. The team’s 10-0 start marks the program’s most consecutive wins to open the year since starting 10-0 in 2004-05. Since the previous poll, Northwestern has gone 3-0 with a win over then-No. 9 Cumberlands (Ky.).

The Dordt men are also climbing in the Rankings, off to a 12-0 start the Defenders climbed 6 spots to Number 11 this week. Morningside made one of the biggest jumps in the Rankings to number 14, from 23 last week.

The top team in the poll changed again as Georgetown (Ky.) moved into the No. 1 spot, receiving 17 of the 20 first-place votes. College of Idaho, in second, also received a first-place vote, followed by Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), Arizona Christian, and LSU Alexandria (La.) to round out the top five.
