The Iowa football coaches association has announced its hall of fame class for 2025, and it includes former Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley coach Cory Brandt.
A product of northwest Iowa football, Brandt graduated from Maurice-Orange City in 1987, attended Northwestern College, returned to MOC-Floyd Valley as a volunteer assistant. He then took his first head coaching job in Burke, South Dakota before setting up the foundation of Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley football. In 25 seasons at BH/RV, his squads went 185-73 with 17 playoff appearances and six trips to the UNI-Dome, capped by a state championship in 2016. From 2011 until his retirement in 2021, the Nighthawks advanced to the quarterfinals or further eight times. The run included five semifinal appearances in the span of six years, with three undefeated regular seasons. They emphatically won 2016 title in Class 2A and earned Brandt IFCA Coach of the Year honors.
Cory, and his wife Susan are teachers at Rock Valley and Brandt continues to coach track and field.
The 2025 class also includes former Sioux City Heelan coach Roger Jansen.
