(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the Women’s Tennis All#Conference selections for 2025. Maria Purizaca from Doane has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Tennis Player-of-the-Year, while Alex Struck from Morningside and Ed Hubbs from Doane are the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Tennis Co-Coaches-of-the-Year.
Northwestern landed four singles selections and two doubles teams on the All-GPAC list, led by All-Conference picks Pietra Ferreira and Alloree Else.
Pietra Ferreira – All-Conference (No. 1 Singles)
A freshman from Piracicaba, Brazil, Ferreira went 10-9 in her first collegiate season. She picked up seven of those wins at No. 1, while going 3-1 at No. 3. Ferreira earns her first career All-GPAC selection.
Alloree Else – All-Conference (No. 6 Singles)
A freshman from Pella, Iowa, Else compiled a 9-8 record in her debut year. She picked up six wins at No. 6 and went 3-0 with a GPAC tournament win at No. 5. Else is a first-time All-GPAC honoree.
Julia VandenBerg – Honorable Mention (Singles)
VandenBerg, a senior out of Sheridan, Wyoming, won eight matches for the Raiders this season. She spent all of her time at No. 2, closing out her career with a comeback singles victory in the GPAC tournament. VandenBerg receives her third career All-GPAC singles selection.
Hannah Beckloff – Honorable Mention (Singles)
A junior from Rapid City, South Dakota, Beckloff went 5-8 overall with a 3-3 conference mark. All of Beckloff’s appearances came at No. 4 as she ended the regular season with three wins in a row. Beckloff receives all-conference singles honors for the second time in her career.
Julia VandenBerg/Pietra Ferreira – Honorable Mention (Doubles)
The senior/freshman doubles team of VandenBerg and Ferreira led the team with nine wins this season, going 4-2 in GPAC action. At No. 1 doubles, the duo won their last five appearances to close the year.
Ainslie Robinson/Emily Westenberg – Honorable Mention (Doubles)
Robinson and Westenberg finished second on the team with four wins as a pair, going 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Both Westenberg and Robinson received doubles honorable mention nods last year, joining together this season to receive recognition once again.
