Missouri corn planting past halfway

Over half of the Missouri corn crop has been planted.

USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition report shows 63% of the corn crop has been planted, which is well ahead of the five-year average of 40%, but that’s 11% behind last year’s pace.  Corn emergence is at 35%, ahead of the five-year average of 10%.

Missouri soybean planting is well ahead of average as well with 24% planted, outpacing the 9% average, but 5% behind last year’s pace.  Soybeans emerged reached 9%.
