A few showers linger eastern, southern-most Corn Belt; warm & largely dry points westward

Across the Corn Belt, a brief respite between storm systems is underway, although showers Friday morning linger across the Ohio Valley.  Dry weather is providing a short-lived window for fieldwork over the western Corn Belt before thunderstorms return late this weekend. 

On the Plains, mostly dry weather across central portions the region is bookended by showers on the northern Plains and locally severe thunderstorms to the south over far southern Texas and environs.
