A dairy leader says trade deals require continued communication and follow-up to benefit producers and processors.
Jaime Castaneda with the National Milk Producers Federation says delegations from the U.S. and Mexico met recently. “We make sure we share information for doctors, nutritionists, on the benefits of dairy as well as actually preventing any trade barriers that may be happening at our border.”
Castaneda tells Brownfield the U.S. supplies about 80% of Mexico’s imports, including 25% of their dairy imports, and there is still great potential for additional dairy sales.
