Tornow Becomes Northwestern Cheer’s First All-American

In a season that saw Northwestern cheer advance to its first NAIA Championship competition in program history, senior Nathan Tornow has been named the school’s first All-American in the sport.

“I’m very proud of the work Nathan has put in these last four years,” head coach Taylor Decker stated. “After his ACL injury, we weren’t sure if he would make it back to the level he was at before, but he has surpassed every expectation. I’m extremely proud to be his coach!”

Earning Second Team All-American honors this season, Tornow is a four-time All-GPAC selection. Along the route to the NAIA Championships, the Raiders won the GPAC title with a program-record score of 92.66 points. At the national competition, Northwestern placed sixth with 88.55 points.
