Orange City native Aubrey De Groot recorded 11 blocks across a pair of Northwestern road wins to earn GPAC Volleyball Defender of the Week honors. The Raiders clinched the conference’s regular-season title in the first of those wins.
De Groot had four blocks and a kill in the title-clinching win at Dakota Wesleyan. The Northwestern senior followed that with seven blocks and four kills Saturday at Mount Marty.
“We had two great road wins as a team last week and Aubrey did a great job of defending the net for us,” head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch said. “This is a well-deserved honor for her.”
The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced the award, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports, on November 2.
