ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College athletics has announced that two former athletes have joined the staff as graduate assistants.
Korbyn Gramstad – Football Graduate Assistant
Gramstad joined the Red Raider football coaching staff last spring as a graduate assistant, primarily working with the tight ends group.
As a student-athlete at Northwestern, Gramstad won an NAIA national championship in 2022, a season that saw him play 13 games and record 17 tackles and 2.5 sacks. For his career, he made 43 appearances as an EDGE rusher and totaled 55 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He was a Plifeger-Olson scholar-athlete in 2019.
Hailing from Lester, Iowa, Gramstad holds a degree in business management from Northwestern College and is pursuing a master’s in school counseling from Northwestern. He and his wife, Amber, reside in Sheldon.
Molly Schany – Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant
One of four players in Northwestern history to collect 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for her career, Schany begins her coaching career after a decorated five-year career on the court. Schany earned First Team All-GPAC honors four times, was an NAIA Third Team All-American in 2023-24, and was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2021-22.
Schany earned CSC Academic All-America honors twice, was a four-time NAIA Scholar Athlete, and received Northwestern’s Noordewier Academic Achievement Award in each of the last two seasons.
Originally from Emmetsburg, Iowa, Schany is working toward a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northwestern.
