Northwestern Earns Top Seed, to Host Dillard (La.) in Opening Round

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On the heels of winning their second consecutive GPAC tournament title, the top-ranked Northwestern volleyball team has received the top seed in the NAIA tournament. The Raiders will host Dillard (La.) at 1:00 p.m. in the Bultman Center on Saturday.

The Raiders enter the national tournament with a 30-0 record, their most wins without a loss since 2010. As a team, they are hitting .265 and average 3.28 blocks per set, both GPAC bests. Individually, Jazlin Douma leads the team with 4.44 kills per set, and Zavyr Metzger is the NAIA’s leader in blocks per set with 1.81.

Dillard enters the tournament as the champion of the HBCU Athletic Conference. The Bleu Devils have gone 20-8 this season, posting a 13-1 conference slate. They enter the NAIA tournament on a five-match winning streak, sweeping their way through the HBCUAC conference tournament.

Northwestern has hosted an Opening Round matchup every year since the NAIA expanded the tournament field in the 2020 season.
