Northwestern Middle Zavyr Metzger is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Metzger, a sophomore from Larchwood, Iowa, tied her career-high with 11 blocks in the sweep at Hastings, notching 3.67 blocks per set. In the two Red Raider sweeps on the weekend, she averaged 2.50 blocks per set with 15 blocks. She continues to lead the NAIA (and GPAC) in blocks per set (1.90), while sitting second in the nation in total blocks (118). in the nation’s best blocking team (per set) at 3.48 blocks per set.
