Lorenzen, Fairclough & Van Donge Earn Weekly Honors

Dordt athletes have claimed three of the four GPAC player-of-the-week honors this week including both of the men’s awards.

Lucas Lorenzen is the offensive player-of-the-week after hitting 69 percent of his field goal attempts in two games last week. The junior from Milford was also 9-16 on three pointers and scored 30 in a win over Concordia.

Teammate Ben Fairclough is the men’s defensive player-of-the-week. The senior from Perth, Australia, blocked four shots and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Concordia win. He currently leads the GPAC in blocked shots per game.

Meanwhile, Dordt’s Janie Van Donge is the women’s GPAC offensive player-of-the-week. The senior from Hospers averaged a double-double last week with 20 points and 14.5 rebounds per game in a pair of wins including an overtime victory over Concordia.

Concordia’s Abby Krieser took the women’s defensive honors.
