A holiday tradition in Sioux Center will help local children participate in sports, music, and other activities.
Peoples Bank is partnering with All Kids Can for the sixth annual Christmas For A Cause at Heritage Village. The free, walk-through Christmas light display will run November 27 through December 27, from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly. All freewill donations will benefit All Kids Can.
Employees from Peoples Bank, Wealth Management Group, and Insurance create the displays each year. Over its first five years, Christmas For A Cause has raised more than $63,400 for local nonprofits.
Helping Children Participate
All Kids Can works to make activities accessible to children in the Sioux Center community who face obstacles such as finances, transportation, or a lack of resources.
The ministry began in 2009, when three women met to discuss how rising costs for camps, apparel, and equipment were keeping some students from participating. Developed under the encouragement of Simply Grace Ministries, All Kids Can provides assistance and ongoing support to help children get involved.
“Being the recipient of this year’s Christmas For A Cause is truly a gift, not only for the generous donations given but for the opportunity we have to teach and spread the word of what All Kids Can is and who we serve! What a gift it is for us to share our ministry this holiday season,” said All Kids Can Board President Barb Hoekstra.
Visitors can contribute through donation boxes and QR codes available throughout the event.
Lights, Hot Chocolate, and Holiday Activities
All Kids Can volunteers will also serve hot chocolate at Doc’s Café for a freewill donation. Weather permitting, the café will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. November 27–28 and December 4–5, 11–12, and 18–19. The December 4–5 dates coincide with Sioux Center’s Hometown Holidays.
Additional weekend activities are being planned.
“Seeing Heritage Village transformed by the creativity and dedication of our employees is something we look forward to each year,” said Dale Vander Berg, president of Sioux Center Peoples Bank. “We are grateful to offer a free holiday tradition that creates lasting memories for families while supporting All Kids Can and its mission.”
Updates will be available on Peoples Bank’s Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts, @BankWithPeoples, and at peoples-ebank.com. More information about the beneficiary is available at allkidscan.org.
