GPAC Women’s basketball players of the week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the women’s basketball players-of-the-week for contests played December 2-8.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week

Offensive – Macy Sievers, Dordt University (Guard)

Macy Sievers of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Sievers, a junior from Storm Lake, Iowa, went 3-4 from the three-point line in the fourth quarter of Dordt’s come from behind 66-61 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday and scored a season-high 24 points. Handed out a season high 12 assists in a win over Mount Marty and went over 500 career assists on Saturday. Currently leads the nation in assists per game.

Defensive – Hali Anderson, Northwestern College (Guard)

Hali Anderson of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Anderson, a senior from Saint Ansgar, Iowa, tied a program record with eight steals in Northwestern’s win at Waldorf on Wednesday. She also added three steals in Saturday’s win, averaging 5.5 on the week. Anderson grabbed five rebounds in each outing, also averaging 8.0 assists on the week and notching a double-double on Saturday.
