Drew Dykstra of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball pitcher-of-the-week. Dykstra, a senior from Urbandale, Iowa, threw a complete-game shutout in Friday’s 6-0 win at Hastings. He only allowed two hits and struck out six batters to improve to 6-0 on the year. Dykstra currently leads the GPAC in ERA (1.29), strikeouts (57), and wins (6).
Lakes Area Business Leader Butch Parks Dies at 81

Longtime and well-known Iowa Great Lakes businessman Butch Parks has died at 81. Parks was the founder of Parks Marina and the iconic Barefoot Bar and Snappers.
