Dordt announces baseball coaching change

Dordt University has announced Nathan Bacon will not return as head baseball coach and Dordt will begin an immediate search for a head coach for the program.

“We thank Nathan for the five sesons he has worked in leading the Defender baseball program. He has coached with a servant’s heart and we appreciate the time and energy he and his family devoted to the program,” said Dr. Erik Hoekstra, Dordt University President.

Bacon was named the head coach of the program in July 2019 and guided the Defenders to a 60-141 record in the past five seasons. During his five seasons Bacon coached eight athletes who earned first or second-team all-GPAC honors and two College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees and one College Sports Communicators All-American honoree.
