As part of National Rural Health Day, Sioux Center Health has been recognized with a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in quality.
The award, given by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, honors rural hospitals that rank in the top quartile nationwide (75th percentile or above) for quality performance.
“At Sioux Center Health, quality isn’t just a measure—it’s a promise to our patients and communities,” said CEO Cory Nelson. “We’re honored to be recognized for the dedication our team demonstrates to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of care.”
The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a national benchmarking tool used to evaluate rural hospitals across several key areas that affect patient care, operations, and financial stability. Health systems, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health use the INDEX to measure and compare rural hospital performance.
“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director of the Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to shine a spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural Health Day.”
