United States Senator Joni Ernst attended Guiding Star Siouxland’s annual fundraising Gala in Sioux Center last Friday night (3/7/25). This is the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year. Guiding Star Siouxland, based in Orange City, provides life-affirming health care and birth services to women. They focus on four primary services, offering mental, emotional, and physical care for women to embrace their natural feminine design, that supports women at every stage of life, from pre-pubescence to menopause and beyond.
Senator Ernst also spoke at the event. She discussed her efforts to redirect funding from Planned Parenthood to other women’s healthcare organizations.
She also supports requiring states to report all abortions performed.
Ernst went on to talk about her efforts to support affordable childcare.
The Senator closed with encouraging words and support for Guiding Star.
Guiding Star leaders highlighted the importance of Senator Ernst’s support, particularly in light of Iowa’s six-week abortion ban, often referred to as the ‘heartbeat bill.’ They project this could lead to assisting approximately 4,200 more mothers and babies annually. The Guiding Star Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering women by providing education, healthcare solutions, and community support. Their mission revolves around promoting a wholistic feminist worldview that honors the natural biological functions of women, such as fertility, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
