Northwestern College Earns “Best Christian Workplace” Honor for Third Straight Year

Northwestern College has once again been recognized as a Best Christian Workplace, marking the third consecutive year the Orange City institution has earned the designation.

The 2025 survey conducted by the Best Christian Workplaces Institute measured organizational health across Christian colleges nationwide. Northwestern achieved its highest score ever—4.19 on a five-point scale—placing the college in the 91st percentile among higher-education institutions.

The survey evaluates key drivers of workplace culture, including teamwork, employee purpose and spiritual engagement, leadership quality, communication, compensation, and a sustainable long-term strategy. President Greg Christy says the record score reflects the commitment of Northwestern’s faculty and staff.

“These are people who love the Lord and one another well,” Christy said. “Their devotion creates an environment where our standout students can be nurtured, challenged, and supported to become all God intends for them to be.”

Christy noted four themes that consistently surfaced in employee feedback: a strong commitment to Northwestern’s Christian mission, a campus-wide culture of excellence, flexible and family-friendly work expectations, and a deep love for the people who make up the NWC community. One survey respondent wrote, “I am thankful to work in a Christian environment with such a meaningful mission. I love being able to make a positive impact and walk alongside students throughout their journeys.”

All of the college’s divisions scored 4.0 or higher, and 67% of employees rated Northwestern above 4.0—nearly 12% higher than the average for other participating colleges and universities.
