On Wednesday, December 27, at 4:39 am, the Sioux Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 75, three miles south of Maurice, IA.
47-year old John Rushing of Nursery, TX, was driving a 2004 Ford F-350 northbound on Highway 75 when he lost control of the vehicle, struck an Iowa Department of Transportation bridge guard rail and entered the west ditch.
No injuries were reported.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $1,500; damage to the guard rail was estimated at $3,000.
Rushing was cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
