A Hull man is facing dozens of felony charges following a child exploitation investigation conducted by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to Sioux County court records, 30-year-old Evan Marra of Hull has been charged with a total of 63 counts connected to alleged child sexual abuse material and the alleged exploitation of minors.
Investigation Began with CyberTips
Court documents say the investigation began in April of 2026 after the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office ICAC investigator received CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding alleged child sexual abuse material being uploaded within Sioux County.
Investigators say search warrants were later obtained for electronic storage devices allegedly operated by Marra. According to the criminal complaints, investigators determined Marra allegedly possessed and uploaded multiple files containing child sexual abuse material involving victims estimated to be between 5 and 15 years old.
The complaints reviewed by Sioux County Radio describe numerous separate files allegedly discovered during the investigation. Several complaints reference files that investigators say depicted the sexual assault of pre-pubescent children.
Other filings reference alleged videos or recordings depicting minors engaged in sex acts.
Allegations Involving Local Minors
Court records also allege investigators found Marra had taken visual depictions of two local minor victims and edited the images “to make it appear the minor was engaged in an unlawful sex act.”
Several complaints allege that the edited images depicted the minors as nude for the sexual gratification of the defendant.
Additional filings allege some edited images portrayed one of the minors as nude, with explicit alterations added to the image.
According to the complaints, some of the charges are tied to the alleged creation or alteration of the images, while other charges accuse Marra of knowingly possessing the same files.
Charges Filed
Marra was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Sioux County Jail. Marra faces 59 Class D felony counts and four Class B felony counts.
The complaints indicate the alleged incidents occurred between January and March of 2026.
Potential Penalties
Under Iowa law, a Class B felony is punishable by up to 25 years in prison per count. A Class D felony carries a possible sentence of up to five years in prison per count.
If convicted on all charges and sentenced consecutively, he could face a maximum possible prison sentence of 395 years.
No initial appearance or preliminary hearing date was immediately available in the court records reviewed Friday afternoon.
