Siouxland Habitat for Humanity plans to begin construction on its first home in Boyden next spring, and applications are now being accepted from families interested in the homeownership opportunity.
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027. The organization says the project will provide a safe, affordable home for a local family while bringing Boyden residents, businesses, churches, and civic organizations together.
“We are excited to partner with the residents, businesses, churches, and civic organizations of Boyden as we work together to build a safe, affordable home for a local family,” Sioux County Director Kurt Franje said. “This project represents more than a house. It represents hope, opportunity, and a community coming together to make a lasting difference.”
Applications Accepted Through Sept. 30
Families interested in becoming homeowners through the project have until Sept. 30 to apply.

Habitat homeowners help construct their homes and pay an affordable mortgage. Siouxland Habitat for Humanity, founded in 1992, is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and describes itself as a Christian housing ministry.
Community Support Sought for Boyden Build
Siouxland Habitat plans to involve the community throughout the project. Events and milestones are expected to include a groundbreaking, a Sponsor a Stud initiative, a family fun night and a home dedication. Dates will be announced as construction moves forward.
