Habitat for Humanity Home Being Built in Orange City

Habitat for Humanity Returns to New Construction with an Orange City Project. After a year defined by emergency flood recovery, Habitat for Humanity is shifting its focus back to new home construction in Siouxland. The organization recently broke ground on its latest project in Orange City, aimed at providing a local family with a permanent place to call home.

Kurt Franje, Sioux County Director for Habitat for Humanity, says the project is moving quickly. Following a groundbreaking in March, contractors and volunteers have already made significant progress on the excavation and foundation phases. The community has shown strong support, with over 50 “sponsored studs” decorated by local residents now framed into the structure.

Home Build Sponsors

These sponsors are helping to build the home by providing their services:

  • Aalbers Excavating/Trucking
  • Absolute Waterproofing
  • Cleveringa Excavating
  • Cronin Plumbing
  • De Roon Construction
  • GCC Ready Mix
  • Sioux Concrete
  • Sioux Pumping
  • Steve Brouwer Trucking
  • Tri-State Pumping
  • Van Zee Enterprises
  • Vander Pol Excavating
  • Van’t Hof Concrete

The project is likely to be completed this fall, with a home dedication ceremony planned for November. In addition to this build, Habitat continues to operate its home repair program, assisting residents with roofing, siding, and handicap accessibility.
