A hog confinement received heavy fire damage Sunday morning. At about 9:39 a.m., the Hospers Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 report of fire at a hog confinement on Log Avenue, one and one-half miles north of Hospers.
The Hospers Fire Department received mutual assistance from fire departments of Sheldon, Alton, Granville, Boyden and Orange City; the Orange City Ambulance, Hospers Ambulance and Sioux County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
The confinement sustained approximately $50,000 in damage in damage, however no feeder pigs were lost in the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
