Wheat extends losses, with soybeans, corn also down

Soybeans were lower on fund and technical selling. Beans continue to monitor U.S. planting delays and the harvest delays and crop damage in South America. That includes heavy flooding in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul causing the loss of life and raising shipping costs to the Rio Grande port. That could open some opportunities for U.S. exports, but, for now, global demand continues to be slow, with China still favoring Brazil over the U.S. The USDA’s weekly sales numbers are out Thursday morning.
