A southern Illinois farmer says planting started off well.
But Kenny Hartman, who farms in Monroe County, tells Brownfield…
“We’ve been doing fairly well.” He says, “We’re about half done with corn, and about half done with beans, but about a week and a half ago it started raining. So we’re pretty wet right now, so we’re waiting for it to dry up so we can finish.”
Hartman says he’s not been able to start planting fields that are in the Mississippi River bottom.
