Slight planting progress made in South Dakota

Slight progress has been made on corn and soybean planting in the last week across South Dakota.

USDA says corn planting is 18% complete, an increase of 5% points from the previous week and slightly behind this time last year. Corn is just starting to emerge.

Soybean planting is 10% complete, an increase of 6% points from the previous week and ahead of this time last year.

In South Dakota, 16% of the sorghum crop has been planted and 75% of oats are planted.
