Much-needed rains delay Missouri planting

A farmer in west-central Missouri says recent rains are delaying planting season, but those rains are much-needed.

Jordan Bredehoft tells Brownfield “the corn has shot up and it’s looking really good, consistent across all of the fields and the early beans we have in are coming up. It looks like a consistent stand there as well. We’re done with corn and almost halfway done with soybeans.”

Bredehoft says it was too dry to plant some beans before the rains and he’s optimistic when the planters roll again next week the situation has improved.
