Kentucky crops: 23% corn, 13% soybeans planted

Better weather conditions have helped Kentucky farmers make significant planting progress.

Corn is 23 percent planted, with 8 percent emerged.  Soybeans are 13 percent planted.  Tobacco transplants are 81 percent seeded and 86 percent rated good to excellent. 

Winter wheat is 20 percent headed, with 90 percent of the crop rated good to excellent. 

Pastures are rated 69 percent good to excellent.  Grazing ground has continued to show improvement as the weather has stabilized.
