Grassley suggests Senate farm bill framework lacks details on spending

The farm bill framework released by Senate Ag Committee leadership is coming under fire from Republicans.

Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says the version brought forth by chair Debbie Stabenow, a Michigan Democrat, contains a lot of proposals but few details.

“One critical detail that was left out is how exactly it’s going to be paid for.”

During a call with reporters Wednesday, Grassley said early estimates indicate the Senate farm bill would rack up about $20 billion in new spending.
