22% of Nebraska corn, 10% of soybeans planted

The USDA says corn and soybean planting progress continued near their respective average paces last week.

As of Sunday, 22% of the state’s expected corn crop has been planted, near 24% last year and 23% for the five-year average.

Soybeans planted reached 10% completion, near 13% last year and 11% on average.

The sorghum crop reached 1% planting completion, equal to the five-year average pace.

USDA says the state’s winter wheat crop was rated 63% good to excellent.
