Fire Near Inwood Destroys Barn

A small barn near Inwood was destroyed in a fire Sunday morning.

According to Inwood Fire Chief Troy Van Beek, at about 8:40 Sunday morning, the Inwood Fire Department was called to a barn fire on 250th Street, about two miles east-southeast of Inwood.

Van Beek says the fire department saw flames from all sides, and the roof was collapsing when they arrived. He says the main concern battling the fire was a fuel tank against the building which they cooled using water.

Van Beek says the Larchwood Fire Department provided water to put out the fire.  No livestock or pets were lost in the blaze, and there were no injuries.

Firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes. The barn is a total loss, and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
