Lydia Zylstra of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Zylstra, a senior from Pella, Iowa, made 11 saves in the Defenders 0-0 draw against Dakota Wesleyan. This was her third match of the season with double-digit saves. Zylstra followed with a 6-0 shutout win against Mount Marty, a team that was unbeaten in GPAC play going into the match. Zylstra made four saves in the win over the Lancers.
Lakes Area Business Leader Butch Parks Dies at 81

Longtime and well-known Iowa Great Lakes businessman Butch Parks has died at 81. Parks was the founder of Parks Marina and the iconic Barefoot Bar and Snappers.
