Van Kalsbeek named GPAC men’s basketball player of the week

Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a sophomore from Sheldon, Iowa, scored a school-record 52-points on Monday against Midland, shooting 70% from the floor in the win. On Saturday, he knocked down a buzzer-beating three to send the game into overtime, where the Raiders would win in part to his 23 points and 11 rebounds. Van Kalsbeek averaged 31.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists over three games this week.
