Van Donge To Join Defenders

Jacob Van Donge, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.

Van Donge is a 6-1, 180 pound, wide receiver and safety. He earned first team all-district and second team all-state honors during his career and caught passes for 1,539 yards and scored 20 touchdowns. On defense he was credited with 119 tackles.

“I chose Dordt because from the coaching staff to the professors they worked had to get to know me personally. They took time out of their days to sit and have conversations. Dordt also keeps faith at the center of everything which also helped me make my decision. I really enjoyed everyone I talked to and and Dordt seems to be the best fit for me,” said Van Donge.

Jacob is the son of Kevin and Janna Van Donge of Orange City, Iowa. He plans to study criminal justice.
