Fran Travis from Dordt University is this week’s GPAC women’s field athlete-of-the-week. Travis, a sophomore from Spirit Lake, Iowa, won two events, and had three top-five finishes at the Red Raider Open. With over 30 athletes all three events she hit the ‘A’ standard once again and improved her rank in the hammer (6th in NAIA, 2nd in GPAC and 2nd all-time at Dordt). She also hit the ‘B’ standard and won the discus where she is third in the NAIA and placed fourth in the shot put and just missed on hitting the ‘B’ standard.
