GREENWOOD, Ind. – Northwestern senior linebacker Parker Fryar has been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America First Team for the second time of his career, the organization’s office announced today.
Fryar also received First Team Academic All-America recognition in 2022. He becomes the fifth Red Raider to receive the honor multiple times and the 19th selection in program history.
“Parker is a tremendous example of someone who excelled on the field and in the classroom,” head coach Matt McCarty said. “He was dedicated to pursuing excellence in everything he did.”
Fryar, a biology major from Waukee, Iowa, closed his career as a two-time First Team All-American and Northwestern’s second all-time leading tackler. In his final season, he headlined one of the top defenses in the NAIA, recording 109 tackles with 10 tackles for loss and a sack. He also intercepted a pass and forced two fumbles. Fryar was also named the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second time of his career (2022, 2024).
