Northwestern’s Raider Athletics Association Sees Continued Growth

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The 2022-23 academic year saw continued growth for the Raider Athletics Association (RAA), the fundraising arm of Northwestern College Athletics. The RAA consists of general donations to the athletic department, the Raider Athletics Advancement Board (RAAB), and corporate sponsors.

“The growth in support from both individuals, as well as the business community, for our athletic department over the last couple of years has been exciting to see,” noted Director of Athletic Advancement Steve Jacob. “It is clear that our athletic donors are becoming increasingly motivated to support the mission of our school.”

In the last academic year (2021-22 to 2022-23), total members of the RAA jumped up 22.3% to just under 500 members of people donating a minimum of $200 to Red Raider Athletics. The money raised in Raider athletics increased 21.0% from 2021-22 this past academic year.

Since the RAA was established, the growth has been exponential. Total donors have skyrocketed with a 121% increase. Donors giving over $1,000 has also drastically risen since 2020-21, up 2,371% to over 100 people in 2022-23.
