Northwestern & Dordt among Iowa teams drawing votes in latest NAIA softball poll

Northwestern remains in the NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25, while Dordt and Morningside are also part of the national conversation in the latest poll released by the NAIA.

Northwestern checked in at No. 23 in the newest rankings with a 15-8 record. The Red Raiders slipped from No. 18 in the previous poll, but remain among the nation’s top 25 programs early in the season.

Dordt also received votes in the latest poll, finishing just outside the Top 25 with 24 voting points. Morningside was also listed among teams receiving votes, picking up two points.

At the top of the poll, Eastern Oregon moved into the No. 1 spot with a 19-3 record after previously being ranked second. Oregon Tech climbed to No. 2 at 23-3, while former No. 1 Southern Oregon dropped to No. 3 with a 21-9 mark.

The state of Oregon holds the top three spots in the poll, with all three programs receiving first-place votes. Oklahoma City is ranked fourth, and Madonna (Mich.) rounds out the top five.

Two teams entered the Top 25 for the first time this season, with Tennessee Southern debuting at No. 24 and Faulkner (Ala.) entering at No. 25.
