Northwestern and Dordt athletes earn GPAC Men’s soccer honors

Tim Kaltenberger of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Kaltenberger, a senior, from Cologne, Germany, scored three goals in Northwestern’s 2-0 week. On Saturday against Hastings, he scored his 12th goal of the season, moving into the top-10 in program history for single-season goals. He also scored twice in Wednesday’s win at Waldorf. Kaltenberger has scored nine goals in the last seven games and leads the GPAC in scoring.

Mitchell Dryden of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Dryden, a senior, from La Crescent, Minnesota, owed one goal in 180 minutes in leading the Defenders to a 1-0-1 record last week. Dryden made a season-high 14 saves in the Defenders 4-0 shutout win at Jamestown. This was the second clean sheet of the season for Dryden. He followed with eight saves in the Defenders 1-1 draw against Doane.

Northwest Iowa Community College Thunder Athletics hit the field and the range this past week, taking on tough competition from Dakota
