Northwestern quarterback Jalyn Gramstad is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Gramstad, a junior from Lester, Iowa, did not let the snowy conditions bother him as he put up 380 total yards of offense on the day as top-ranked Northwestern topped No. 3 Morningside for the first time in the regular season since 2013. He threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, while he tallied his fifth-career 100-yard rushing game with 146 yards on 21 rushes with one score, a 38-yard touchdown run. He improves to 19-0 as the starting quarterback for the Red Raiders.
Gramstad continues to lead the GPAC in passing yards per game (267.2), total passing yards (2,405), and quarterback efficiency (174.7). Additionally, Gramstad also leads the GPAC in completion percentage (71.1%). He also sits second in the league in passing scores (20), being one of two with 20 or more passing touchdowns.
Gramstad is earning his fourth-career GPAC Offensive Player of the Week honor. He joins running back Konner McQuillan (Sr., Leavenworth, Kan.) as the only other Red Raider to earn the Offensive honor this season, both doing so multiple times.
